Hazrat Bayazid Bastami (or Bistami) was an influential 9th-century Persian Sufi mystic and philosopher, renowned for his profound devotion, strict asceticism, and unique expressions of divine love and mystical union with God, for which he earned the title "Sultan-ul-Arifeen" (Sultan of the spiritual knowers).
