Hazrat Bayazid Bastami (or Bistami) was an influential 9th-century Persian Sufi mystic and philosopher , renowned for his profound devotion, strict asceticism, and unique expressions of divine love and mystical union with God, for which he earned the title "Sultan-ul-Arifeen" (Sultan of the spiritual knowers).
